Five months back I took a policy, Jeevan varsha, from Mrs Sudha vijayakumar. My policy number is 704920235. The time when Mrs sudha vijayakumar and her husband Mr vijayakumar came to introduce this policy; I opted for 9 year –9-year plan. As per the discussions and calculations based on age, I have chosen quarterly payment of Rs 8002 and mrs Vijaya kumar entered the personal details and term. On 28-03-09 they came to my house for first premium, when I gave money they denied to get liquid cash and insisted me for a blank cheque by telling that they will give some rebate (4 premium). After a week I have asked him for the receipt, then Mr vijay kumar told me that I have payed and lic will send the bill by post. Again I waited for a month and asked him the first premium paid receipt and my bond. He informed me that u would shortly receive it from lic. I believed it. After a month I have got a premium reminder letter from LIC, from the letter I have got my policy number!!! And found that my premium amount is 8087 instead of 8002. I rang him and enquired he told me that some service charge is added to 8002. With the policy number, I have registered in LIC website. For full functionality of this site enrolling the form was required. I gave the enrollment form and second premium amount to Mrs. Vijay Kumar. After enrolment procedure I got access to lic site and found details of my policy. I shocked to see that he has put me in 9 year –12-year plan (9 YEAR PREMIUM PAYING AND 12 FOR MATURITY). Immediately I rang him and informed him about it. He agreed to change it back to 9- year 9-year plan. Mean while I tried him over phone many times and he never responded me. This august 10 was the last days to submit my savings details for income tax benefit. I could not do this because I don’t have any receipt and bond related to this LIC policy. I have informed my grievances to Mr SANKARA NARAYANAN, Branch manager LIC, Pudupatinam, Kalpakkam. He has called me for a sitting on this issue on 12-08-09. I had a discussion on this issue with Mr Sankara Narayanan, He got convinced and agreed that Mrs vijayakumar done mistake. “I SAW MY BOND AND TWO RECEIPT WITH BRANCH MANAGER ON 12-08-09”.

If Mrs vijaya kumar gave the first premium receipt to me within 15 days, I would have changed my policy term. He has not even called me over phone about collecting the recept from his residence. These things were conveyed to The Manager and he agreed. He asked me about the punishment to be given to Mrs . Vijayakumar and he himself suggested a punishment of forgiving the insidence!!! “Forgiving is the punishment”this might be a funniest punishment. I have explained my stand to him as

1) either u change the policy term to 9 year - 9 year so that I can continue with LIC
2) or give my money back

He has not only agreed with these suggestions but informed me "u cannot do anything because I will hand over The receipt and bond to Mrs Vijayakumar and ask her to say that she had handed it over long back to me."

What would be the fate of a customer if a manager comments like this after agreeing his agents mistake!!!

Now LIC IS THE ONLY AUTHORITY TO GIVE JUSTICE TO ME . I HOPE LIC WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE ME AS A CUSTOMER. IF I WILL NOT GET ANY FAVOUR FROM LIC I WILL STOP PAYING PREMIUM FOR ALL POLICIES OF WHOLE FAMILY (SEVEN POLICIES)

KINDLY NOTE THAT THE COMMENCEMENT DAY OF MY POLICY IS ON 28-03-2009 SO FAR I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY RECEIPT OR BOND DOCUMENT FROM LIC OTHR THAN PREMIUM REMINDER LETTER.

IN NEXT MESSAGE I WILL SEND THE COPY OF EMAIL I HAVE SEND TO THE AGENT.

It is a social disease, LIC agency, like Amway, very disturbing and constantly making someone awkward.

Trusting too much on an agent seems to lead one to such disastrous consequences.
I would therefore request all to avoid getting into such trap.I know for sure that thtere is lot of pain.
Also pl note that LIC is least bothered if you stop your premiums of say even n no. of policies.
They are sure that your money is with them.Ultimately you will be the looser.
Pl fight out the case on paper without stopping prmiums.You will definitely get the justice.Afterall the truth prevails.

I had similar experiece for ICICI Prudetial. I think the agents are not serious about their job.Most of them do just make some quick money and get out. The insurance companies shoul introduce better screening process for the agents rather than just try to increase business.

We need the concept of insurance broker in India or insurance dealers than these greedy agents who are often ill trained to answer even basic queries.
