We had purchased some three items online from Jabong.com on April 28, 2012, the details of which are given as under:

The payment was made by us online through our internet banking account with SBI here in Ahmedabad. The details are as under:

However, when the company delivered the goods at the shipping address on April 30, 2012, they did not deliver one item out of the above three paid for.

The shipping address provided is that of my govt. office since we travel a lot. So, when I got the package home on May 1, 2012 and we opened it we found that the Jabong people had not delivered the Peora Silver Earrings worth Rs.850 (the box supposed to be containing it was empty).

Immediately, my wife called up the company at their hotline number 18002585555 and registered a complaint regarding this (complaint number 137213) on May 01, 2012 itself. The girl from Jabong, who received the complaint enquired and agreed and apologised for their mistake saying that the company had ‘forgotten to put the ear-rings in the box and she agreed to have the item sent again.

However, even after waiting for a week when we did not receive the item, my wife again called them up on May 7, 2012 and this time the girl who received the complaint totally contradicted their statement made earlier and said that the company was not at fault and the product was delivered. To this my wife firmly objected and asked the girl to follow up the matter expeditiously. She also registered a complaint through email on May 9, 2012, citing the complaint number for which we never received any reply. So again my wife contacted the company today, i.e. on May 15, 2012, but this time the boy from Jabong, who received the call, outrightly refused to do anything about the matter saying that the complaint was closed. He insisted that their company can never fail to deliver any product even when my wife kept telling him that we had no need for making false complaints and wasting our time behind them.

So even though we did not receive the delivery of one product (Peora Earrings Silver) worth Rs.850, the Jabong.com people refuse to rectify their mistake (not to mention the inconvenience caused and the time wasted) and send the item to us. This just proves how unreliable this online shopping website is. It was just our luck that we were not duped for any costlier item but that could happen to somebody else and that is why we are registering this complaint with the consumer forum. We have decided never to purchase anything from this website again.
