I am not writing here after an one-off incident but after quite a fews times of very bad experience with ICICI phone banking over the last few months.

The IVR just does not work, I gave my credit card number twice and once it said, sorry the number is incorrect and once your time has elapsed and we have not got any response, thank you. This is totally frustrating.

You have to spend lots of time and telephone charges without any result. I finally got the line today at 4th attempt, I mean I went thru a different menu and then it said that the wait time is 4 minutes and they started to play promos, after more than 7 minutes finally one CSR came in line and I tried to tell him my card no and then he said before I tell card number can he know from which city I am calling... I said Mumbai and then he again put me on music and after 2 minutes the line is disconnected. So I wasted my 25 minutes of time and call charges without any result, it is really pathetic.

This has been happening for quite some time and I think the call center has sub standard staff and also few of them. They don't send the statement in time and if you call them at your own expense you can't reach them.

May be they have a profit sharing with phone companies, who knows? Their Q1 profit has already taken hit, the stock is languishing and it will be wise for customers to switch to other banks. They are simply not able to manage things and if you happen to visit any of their branches, the scene is worse than SBI.

icici bank is the worst banking i believe. i too have a bitter experience. they opened my current account and keep raising the debit balancefor 2 years. finally i got the letter to settle. than i planned and call up the icici bank bussiness loan people and ask them the loan of 3 cr against property. when everything got finalised about that i raised the old issue of the current account. the executve promised me that he can reverse all the charges leived in current account and asked me the details . In 7 days he took permission from his seniors and reverse all the charges. then i closed the account. and even thank that executive first and then told him all about my plan.

Rishabh, That was a very smart move and these buggers deserve this kind of treatment as they don't let any chance go when it comes to extract money out of the customers. We should all expose these banks and other corporates here and warn the fellow consumers. ICICI Bank probably tops when it comes to unfair practices.
