HDFC ERGO's "E-claim" lets you track the status of your insurance claims Chennai, August 4, 2010: HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company Limited, one of the leading general insurance companies in India, launched their online claim tracking system in Oct-Nov 2009. This online tracking system is called "E-claims". Initially the company provided the tracking facility for motor insurance, but owing to the customer feedback and recommendations, this facility was enabled for health and personal accident policies too.

With the help of e-Claims module a customer can track the status of his/her claims online. He/she doesn't have to visit the branch or call the company call center to get the status of the claims. For motor insurance there is an additional module introduced that allows not only customer but even a networked workshop to check the claim status. They have the facility of intimating claims through this module.

"Providing an online status tracking mechanism is part of a continuous endeavour to increase the levels of customer convenience. In the days ahead, we plan to enable this option for all our retail products." stated Mr Karan Chopra, Head Retail Business, HDFC ERGO

"There has been a good response for this module from our customers, and many of them find it more convenient than the traditional processes of contacting either their intermediaries or the company call centre." added Mr Chopra.

How does this module work

The eClaims module works as follows:

First customer needs to register himself/herself for this module. For registration only minimum information such as first name, last name, date of birth, email, mobile.

After registering, the customer can now login with his/her earlier specified email & password.

Customer is provided with four tabs Buy online, Other claims, Motor Claims & Change password.

Once customer logs in; the default tab activated is of Motor Claims.

Motor claims can be tracked with help of policy number or claim reference number or engine number or chassis number.

After entering the details & hitting the submit option following screen appears which display the details by which the search is triggered along with claim intimation date, status & view details options.

With the help of view details option customer track the detailed history of claim process.

Similarly, a customer can track his/her health claim status with help of either policy number or claim reference number. Along with this details customer also needs to input either start date or end date of the policy to view the status.
