Young girls are forced to become wives and mothers before finishing their basic schooling. The stakes are high: child brides typically experience childbirth complications, life-threatening diseases, spousal violence, and often live in poverty. In Rajasthan, investigative reporter Maria Hinojosa sheds light on the child marriages and "gauna" system involving children younger than 7, as she shares the work of brave community members who are campaigning to end the practice of child marriage, putting their own lives at risk. Next, in Niger, the story of Habi, who had a traditional wedding at 13, and was injured from an immediate pregnancy. In Guatemala, Maria's "love" marriage results in a dangerous pregnancy.
