December 4 proved to be the blackest Sunday morning. The shocking news of Evergreen Dev Anand's sad demise came like a hammer hitting hard on the head.
I remember during our college days there used to be a mad scramble to get tickets to any movie starring Dev Anand. We used to cut classes and sell our old text books to enable us to get tickets to a Dev Anand movie. His smart personality was such that it used to attract us like a magnet. There was everything that one wanted in his movies especially those delightful songs rendered by Kishore Kumar and set to music by S.D.Burman. In fact in those good old days watching a Dev Anand movie was like a ritual. His style of dressing and his hairstyle were the envy of every young man, Dev Anand's way of leading life has taught us many things that we can apply in our lives. 1. Never look back at failures and go ahead with the future plans with optimism. 2. Make the most of this life by remaining active with your professional work. 3. At any age one can always think young and maintain the youthful spirit, Dev Saab your memorable films like Nau Do Gyarah, Tere Ghar ke Saamne, Guide, Jewel Thief, Prem Pujari and Johny Mera Naam to name a few will always be there in our minds. Who says that Dev Anand is not with us ? He dwells in the hearts of all his fans like me. You shall always be a source of inspiration for us. I am sure that from your Heavenly Abode you will shower your blessings to all your fans. Comments (5) maaz_nawaz wrote on 04 December, 2011
Of Course it's a very sad news.We lost a star who was really alive and lived his life thoroughly.
Steve Jobs, Jagjit Singh, Shammi Kapoor, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, Ustad Sultan Khan and Now The Evergreen Hero Dev Anand.... One of my favourite song of Dev Saheb.... Har Fiqr Ko Dhuein Mein Udataa Chala Gaya, Main Zindagi Ka Saath Nibhata Chala Gaya. Thanks a lot for the timely tribute .... Ramaswamy wrote on 05 December, 2011
Though I never had an opportunity to meet this great personality he became very close to me since my childhood days. After his demise, the desire to live has completely vanished

Ramshwamy:morning of December 4 might be the blackest in the life of some Bollywood buffs but not so to most of others.Dev Anand was a very popular actor but he was copy cat of Gregory Peck, an actor with less originality. It is very easy to mimic others but very difficult to develop originality. Dev Anand did not have a strong screen personality like Dilip Kumar, Amitav Bacchan etc. Indeed he had introduced many sexy actresses to Bollywood. In that sense his demise would have made morning of December 4 the blackest morning.
