Stephen Hawking endorses Marxism

Stephen Hawking endorses Marxism The world renowned scientist Stephen Hawking has dismissed heaven as a "fairy story for people afraid of the dark".

His declaration endorses the view of Karl Marx who found religions as a significant hindrance to reasoning and therefore intervenes with social development.

Hawking insisted that, rather than advance to an afterlife, people's brains switch off like "broken-down computers" when they die.

He admitted his views were partly influenced by his long battle with motor neurone disease, which has left him wheelchair-bound.

He said yesterday: "I have lived with the prospect of an early death for the last 49 years. I'm not afraid of death, but I'm in no hurry to die. I have so much I want to do. I regard the brain as a computer that will stop working when its components fail."

"There is no heaven or afterlife for broken-down computers - that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark." Hawking, author of 1988 international best-seller A Brief History of Time, was diagnosed with the disease at 21 and speaks via a voice synthesiser.

Last year he claimed with mathematical certainty that the universe was not created by God. Hawking has achieved worldwide fame for his research, writing and television documentaries.

The communist idea and philosophy is again coming to the fore front and people are again slowly realizing that the days of communism are far from over.

Red salute to Hawking!

Is it the latest propaganda material of the bankrupt CPI(M) party? We may soon hear that Hawking is also endorsing Prakash Karat.

This man is a B*****d, he is talking like a foolish person as if he is the God. This man should be tried for blasphemy and all his writings should be censored as he is ruining the society. His state is due to the deep sins he is created and continuing to create by ridiculing God and the billions of believers who believe in Allah and nothing but Allah as the supreme power who created the entire existence. It is our human limitation that we are in such a pitiful condition of consciousness to grasp even one billionth part of the divine creation and calling ourselves as wise people. The only book that can lead us to the right path is the Holy Koran.

Jam Ali@ I fully agree with your views. Stephen Hawkins may be an eminent physicist, but that does not mean he knows everything of everything. This universe is created by the all mighty god, it can not be denied. There is another world beyond our scientifically acquired knowledge.

Karl Marx is dead - in more ways than one. Trying to resurrect him is futile. I appreciate Marx raised some important issues and made some valid points about society that we could still learn from, but one would have to have rocks in their head if they took his thoughts in their entirety. No communist party in the world is doing that now, least of all the largest of them the Communist Party of China.

If the leftists in West Bengal want to stay relevant they must change their tune and focus on the issues instead of the rhetoric. The problems of West Bengal are enormous and I don't think Mamata Banerjee has either the resources or the wisdom to make a significant change (except not to travel in bullet proof cars). There may yet be a second bite of the cherry for the Left but they will have to be smart and they must change.

@ Khair, Hawking did not comment on communist party or communism per se and I don't know why you are hitting the communist party in this context! Yes, I also agree that religious beliefs are a significant hindrance to rational thinking as otherwise those 19 guys would have visited the best brothels and whore houses of Las Vegas with Bin Laden's money instead of flying the jets through twin towers.

Well FULLMARX how do you then explain the behaviour of some of the worst despots and evil people in the world who had the least respect for religion? What "rational thinking" behaviour have we seen from the likes of Stalin, Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il, Ceasescu, Trotsky, Saddam, Assad, Khruschev and many other so called communists and socialists? Being highly secular, they did not need any religion for their disgraceful behaviour. Religion bashing is a convenient means of pointing the finger at others. In reality we should be talking about people, not the banners under which these people try to hide their misdeeds.
