Congrats to K. SRIKANTH who is likely to replace Vengsarkar as chairman of selection committee of the Indian cricket team. At a time when Indian cricket leaps and bounds in terms of popularity, the selection of down to earth but enigmatic figure of Srikanth is a welcome relief.
The plain speak and canvassing for paid selectors by Vengsarkar was definitely welcome sign. This will definitely seek to avoid inducements for players selection. I hope the BCCI pays him retrospectively at the rate of 25 lakhs per annum for the 2 year period. I am sure the flamboyance, media savvy Srikanth will be blessing in disguise for Indian team. I wish he backs up as a mentor too, which will motivate the Indian team to scale newer heights. I am sure under his chairmanship controversies will be fewer and more of entertainment value. Kudos for a fine selection BCCI.

well i will be happy if more people from south in general are considered, earlier it was known as heaven for cricketers. After Kumble, Dravid, Robin's, Badrinaths exit, it will be difficult for a southie to find a place in Indian team
