A blog is a personal online diary maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary and description of events. The term blog came from the word "web log" which was coined by John Barger in 1997. Peter Merhloz broke the word web log into the phrase "we blog" in 1999 and then the word became popular as both a noun and verb. Everyday bloggers are writing about 200K posts around the world on various topics ranging from personal diaries to world polictics. Blogging has become so popular in India that our Bollywood actors have also started unveiling their thoughts through their personal blogs. Did I tell you I'm kinda perked up and lots of good thoughts in me which, I feel is to be delivered to all... Here they are, my thoughts on preserving nature. Let me know how else we can and we would all be glad to do that.
Remember ?The Day After Tomorrow?, the movie that portrayed the catastrophic effect of global warming and ice sheet melting? Well, the movie may be a work of fiction, but the day that fiction turns an apocalyptic fact may not to too far away, thanks to our own actions. Whether we notice it or not, we are exploiting nature every moment. we are using the fossil fuels, we are polluting the water bodies, we are spewing poisonous gases in the air, we are cutting up the forests not to mention the filling up the swamps. Yes I know what you are going to say, ?I am not going into the forest and cutting up the trees, I am not the filling up the swamplands, and what else I can do than driving cars and use petrol?? Well, you are absolutely right, you have no choice but driving a car on petrol, but you can walk the short distances, can?t you? You are not the one felling trees, but you are the one using toilet paper rolls, aren?t you? And where do the papers come from? Right! the trees. So use as less paper as possible. And inform the pollution control board whenever you see someone filling up a pond or a swamp. Remember, swamps are NOT wastelands; they serve very important purpose in ecological balance. And while at home- try rainwater harvesting, to lessen the use of tap water. And turn off your refrigerator whenever possible, the CFC emitted from it, destroys the ozone layer heavily! Remember, it is our duty to preserve nature. Do something, anything. Let us go and hug a tree like the man in the picture, once in a while! I bet Nature will shower you with blessings unknown. She does the same for me...
