Life Ishten...(this is all about life) says the famous director (of 'Mungaru Male', 'Gaalipata' and 'Manasaare' hit films and 'Mani' and 'Ranga SSLC' flop films in the early part of career) in 'Pancharangi'.

Life is worth being lived, but not being discussed all the time! Nothing is built on stone, all is built on sand, but we must build as if the sand were stone. Life is a maze in which we take the wrong turning before we have learnt to walk. Life is a meaningless comma in the sentence of life.

Unless you stake your life, life will not be won! When so much of positive and negative said about life the director of eminence Yogaraj Bhat takes the route of dejection, rejection and confusion in life in his 'Pancharangi'. He is the new dialogue king of Kannada cinema from this film.

Every character in the film 'Pancharangi' talks too much and this is no doubt a dialogue oriented film that is always filled fun and feast to the eyes. At the outset what Yogaraj Bhat concludes is not a different concept about life. The human situation is always desperate!

There is nothing big about the story. Yogaraj Bhat banked heavily on his dialogue power. He has picked the characters from our surroundings and given more importance to it. The punches in 'Pancharangi' are heavy and the loaded dialogue film is nothing but a chatterbox show.

There is a grave error in the editing department in 'Pancharangi'. How come the editor of the film Deepu S Kumar did not look at the repetition of shots that has no meaning and relevance to the flow of the film?

As usual the eldest son grown up under the utmost care of parents a software guy Lucky (Pawankumar) is foreign returned. He has a careless, fun loving full of freeloader brother Bharathkumar (Diganth). With the marriage broker Panchakshari who is astrologer and Swamiji too the parents (Padmaja Rao and Sunderraj) of Lucky and Bharathkumar come to a coastal area to take a look at the match for Lucky with an astrologer cum swamiji. All of them hire a bus with a favorite dog Ramu to reach a distant place.

In the house they reach for marriage is parents (Sudha Belawadi and Nagendra Shah) of Latha (Ramya Barna) and Ambica (Nidhi Subbaiah) who is brought up from childhood in this house.

Whether the match is approved is the next element. Before the formalities there is lot of pranks between Ambica and Bharathkumar that eventually lead to love affair plus the driver of the bus falls in love with the maidservant of the house. When the match is approved and all set for engagement the astrologer cum Swamiji is missing.

All of them find in the television that Panchakshari is a fake and caught in the scandal. This creates confusion in the minds of Lucky and Bharathkumar parents. Panchakshari who also happens to be uncle of Lucky and Bharatkumar is sentenced to imprisonment. Back in this coastal region the hidden minds breaks up. Bharathkumar knows that his elder brother is in love with another girl and he has come here out of compulsion.

Bharatkumar in the height of the moment explains the situation and the elders are shocked. In a fit of anger Lucky walks away with his lover. The family in grief now is the one that invited this match.

In the end it is whether Bharathkumar and Ambica agree to live together. You have to watch it on silver screen.

Yogaraj Bhat has not made a careless and fit for nothing movie 'Pancharangi'. He has added lorry loads of dialogues that sometimes test the patience of average film audience.

Diganth the Chaco boy fits the role to the 'T'. So is Nidhi Subbaiah. This pair is wonderful for this kind of fun and frolic movie. Diganth the hot favorite of Yogaraj Bhat throughout the film maintains a good tempo and looks poignant at the end

Ananthnag who comes after the interval narrating about his life is also resounding as this character is picked from real life. Ramya Barna is neglected once again. Sudha Belawadi, Padmaja Rao, Sunder Raj have give admirable support.

In this dialogue filled every scene and shot 'Pancharangi' the delectable aspects are cinematography from Thyagarajan and some fine tunes from Mano Murthy who has a mark of high caliber.

The coastal regions, the old house top angles, the coconut trees the night effect captured by Thyagarajan is remarkable.

Mano Murthy in the songs Life Istene.... Hudugaru Beku... Udisuve Belakina Seereya... Pancharangi Hadugalu... Ninnaya Nalumeya Lokake Nannanu Parichayisu... are peppy, melodious worth hearing again.

Yogaraj Bhat has become dialogue king of Kannada cinema from 'Pancharangi'. There are wrong and right punches in 'Pancharangi' about life.

It is a typical family oriented melodrama but short of dimensions to make a stage craze.

the songs are beautiful... specially 'life isthene', 'Udisuve Belakina Seereya' and 'Ninnaya Nalumeya Lokake Nannanu Parichayisu' song mocks the normal life of human being.. the lyrics given by yograj bhat sir are super... an outstanding poet..
also acting of anant nag sir and digant is super
ALL THE BEST FOR PANCHARANGI TEAM...

I watched this movie last weekend.. its not tat bad movie as projected by all media.. we can watch it once without any problem.. YB would have reduced the repeated dialogues which sometime irritates to the core.. sometime we miss the good dialogues because of the overdose.. otherwise movie is handled very well and its different from regular kannada movies..

diganth has improved very well in his acting and nidhi steals the show.. hope she will get good chances in kannada and will nor flee away to telugu/tamil industry!!!

YB did not use the nature, i dont understand why he moved to studio sets for songs, could have used the coastal nature
