Is it a crime to talk for Hindus in Independent India? Is it a crime to talk for Hindus in independent India? Probably, it is.

If you have ever sided with any nationalists ideology or activity even without fully being aware, but then you have taken a big risk politically (in India) and probably your name is already marked in the bad book of Pasta Behen.

But, don't worry much, there are very easy and safe ways to prove your secular credentials in the current political scenario. Just you need to do some BJP bashing, also bashing Sangh Parviar would earn you brownie points but if you are looking for a big score, then directly launch attack on the Hindu community itself - a very good idea would be to talk about Hindu terrorism and how it is destroying our country and terrorising the society (though it does not exist).

If you are not a politician (or not getting a ticket), still you can impress the Italian Mata Ji and her family business, go for a dharna in front of Batla House, or fight for the human rights of Afjal Guru or at least make some nude drawings of Hindu Goddesses, I can bet no one can then question your secularist image in this country of 1.1 billion.

Why not Congress can rename the Indian republic as the Holy Islamic Republic of India and the Indian prime minister should add the title prefix as "The Custodian of all Holy Mosques", as they seem to be only concerned with Muslim vote bank politics?

Let them arrest Varun Gandhi and arrange for his his trial under Islamic court. But first he should read "La Gita" offered by Priyanka Gandhi and then punished according to the holy prescriptions of Sharia law.

I think you are a BJP supporter but none of the political parties are clean and all of them are just making public postures, no one actually cares about Muslims or Hindus or any body as a matter of fact, they just care for money and personal gains. If Congress would have really cared for Muslims, then at least one community would have been cared for even if they don't care Hindus, but I can assure you that both Muslims and Hindus (I mean the ordinary people) are abused by the politicians, all parties have criminals and candidates as MPs and MLAs against whom serious criminal charges are made and they still continue to get tickets, Mr Varun Gandhi's uncle ex-PM of India Mr Rajiv Gandhi said justifying the 1984 anti-Sikh riot - "when a big tree falls, earth shakes" - so what else you can expect from politicians?? They are all the same more or less...

Welcome to new era of democracy.... Within hindu too if u take side of particular caste u will get to face the Heat ... Gods knows better where these bastards will take us and where will we land...

Holy Cow! What a sense of humour Hari and you deserve cascading kudos for the "la gita' thing :) I think this is a evil-o-civil masterstroke by BJP which has catapulted the lesser known Gandhi in the limelight, now one MP in Karnataka has also gone Varun's way, the EC acted in haste and now they are laying it down, so the winner is Varun, so hate speech works in the largest democracy which is a bit saddening. May be we should introspect why it works?

Long time back there was a small news... I read about it... a JNU professor/lecturer was beaten up...I have a question for Priyanka Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, did they follow the teachings of "La Gita" when the professor was brutally beaten up by goons, his crime was sending a love letter to Priyanka Gandhi! I am no kidding, this was in news, and also can Sonia Gandhi also explain how this action was different than from Muthalik's action? Thanks.

My question to EC and UPA government is why they are not hanging Afjal Guru (who has been convicted) and instead gunning after Varun Gandhi who has categorically stated that the tape was doctored, actually the voice on the tape which was played by media resembles more to that of Rahul Gandhi!!!

Also, why EC is not sending advisory to the respective parties where convicted criminals (eg. Sanjay Dutt) and public fund embezzlers (eg. Llu Prasad Yadav) are being nominated as candidates to become law makers. Varun Gandhi has actually said nothing wrong, every Hindu has a right to defend their community, also regarding the speech noted jurist Ram Jethmalani has said that "cutting limbs" are nothing but rhetoric in an election campaign and should not be taken literally, it means that the speaker meant making the person incapable and not literally chopping off the arms and legs, supreme court of India has already as ruling supporting this according to Jetmalani, so what are we talking?

Holy Cow!!! After Varun courting arrest and going to jail, he has definitely consolidated his position in BJP as a young aggressive leader who is not shy to talk for Hindus.
