India is Mecca for CRICKET

India is Mecca for CRICKET Australia’s tour of Pakistan was cancelled due to the terror threats in the country. Indian leg of the tour will carry on as usual despite serial blasts. How can it be possible that too with superiority complex of the Aussies. It is only because of the endorsement offers, IPL league, ICL platform, Music albums, Bollywood offers, etc. Cricket Australia realizes the potential of Indian earnings.

A classic example is of Greg Chappell who was called back to coach in Modi’s academy. He was also advisor for Jaipur Royals since it was Modi’s team in the IPL league. Just imagine the talent of Greg Chappell Jaipur Royals won hands down in the thriller of match @ IPL. Greg did not come to India after an acrimonious exit for the love of the country or its cricketers, but for the mega bucks doled out. Greg got into a media trap and had to handle the Icons of the Indian cricket, which is an unpleasant job for even a media savvy personality. Now many Aussies will vie to become coach of the Indian team including Macgrath, Gilchrist, Shane warne, etc.

The result of Cricket dominance has created many professional avenues such as Cricket academy, Sports Management, Telecast, Advertising, Umpiring, Sports Reporting, Anchors, etc. India has emerged right on top in all the fields except in Cricket Telecasting or camera work to be precise. We have to learn from channel 9 which is a perfect telecasting model for cricket. I hope Indian telecastors employ the Aussie technique of telecasting, which will make cricket more exciting.

Experiments galore are still possible for Indian cricket development, for example having mixed cricket team with 4 female players. Next experiment is in the form of celebrity cricket matches with once again 4 celebrities in the team rather than complete team. Another idea is to have classic cricket without all the contraptions of Helmet, thigh pads, chest guard, elbow guard etc. Ideas to develop cricket to the next level can easily be brain stormed.

The most important indirect benefit of cricket is that it helps to soothen or calm down the communal hatred and terror psychosis in the country. Cricket acts as a pain balm to heal the riot affected or terror victims and their families. Can anybody dispute the healing property of Indian cricket.

Besides all these, Cricket is always a great event for ad revenue!! This is when Tv Channels and Ad agencies mint a huge chunk of their money

I am not a fan of this game and I feel it is too boring most of the time, but since we cannot play others games we have to watch cricket.

being national game, hocket does not get recognition even from ministry level ...only chak de india says hockey is our national game......but our govt gives more priority for cricket..some cunning politics is involved in cricket in india.

well i don t why you all guys are jealous of cricketers Lol. Well the charisma and glamour associated with the game has come after 25 years. In the meanwhile hockey has gone down day by day bringing shame instead of laurels to the country. Now just because SRK played a Chak De to promote hockey, in the film, he can t do the same in reality which was proved in Kolkata knight riders. So let us appreciate the spirit of the game. If cricketers earn we should not feel jealous but proud they are earning because they are shining. Even individual like Sania, Leander, Bhupathi, V Anand, are earning do you expect cricketers to feel jealous of them. Now for your info, ladies Golf is going to earn 2 crore if they win a tournament. Should we BJ

No one's jealous Derebail..Everyone is sad coz the game and the men playing the game have been commercialized!

SRK promoted Knight Riders for money and not for any love for cricket..He couldnt do it in reality for hockey coz that wud not mint any money for him..Again he promoted hockey in reel only for money !!

iam_rajesh wrote on 17 September, 2008

its not jealous. its like y indian game is considered hockey but govt supports cricket..rather make cricket as national game..2ndly our country spends lot for cricket..can invest same amount to atleast reduce poverty..there r so many lives in india who do not get 1 time meal per day...whereas money is invested like anything to promote cricket..there are F1 guys doing good job & they do not have enough sponsorship..now VMallya is trying to bring..lets see..its like partiality govt shows towards 1 game..if govt promotes other games 1ly people will also show interest. how players of other games will also show interest when they r not cheered by cheer girls..) and when they don,t get crowd.
