I lost my Pan card in July 08 and reapplied for the same in August possible arounf 13th of August. The prson concerned Mr. Mahaswami auusred me that I will get the same within 21 working days from the date of applying. However it's been over 4 months that I still haven't recieved it. The last commimtment made by this person was on 10th Novemeber that I will recieve my new Pan Card by 15th December. However, I still haven't recieved it and when I called up the gentleman on 16th of December, he asked me for my 10th marksheet (while I have already submitted my 12th marksheet as my age -proof).As of now I am left with no identitiy proof as I am working as a freelancer and have no offical ID too.
Looking forward for your guidance on the same.

Did you try applying online? It was quick for me when I lost mine about 2 years back!

You need not apply for a new PAN. Just apply for issue of a fresh PAN card with same PAN number. Contact the NSDL Centre.

Hi Nitin, yeah I applied the Pan card with my existing number. Thanks a lot. Ranger- thanks man will apply it online. Can you tel me how long it'll take?

Well I think if you have a gas connection that can used as Id proof, get your Election ID card made that will be ultimate proof. You can use Bank pass book as Id proof. Land line bills, Electricity bills and Rental agreement can used as proof. What about driving license, Vehicle registration, Passport, Lol So many proof, I feel that is sufficient.
