Government vehicles Misused By Public Servants.
Today we can easily see misuse of official vehicles by the government officers. Official vehicles can be seen outside school, colleges, shopping malls, multiplexes and marriage parties carrying kids & the family of public servants. I still recollect those honest days when my father being a labour commissioner never allowed us to use his professional benefits & powers for our personnel use. Sometimes I requested my dad to drop me to the school when he was leaving to his office; he dropped me in our personal car but never misused his official vehicle. Whenever I went with him for movies or hotels, the concerned authorities refuse to take the bills, but he never accepted those favours. When I asked him why he refuses the gifts or favours, he politely said this is nothing but the other way of accepting bribes. I was shocked to read in Bangalore Mirror that a woman personal assistant in the police crime records bureau enjoys a brand new, chauffeur-driven jeep at her disposal round the clock, while many senior policemen ride to work on bikes. During emergencies, PAs do get dropped at their doorstep, but they are never provided with a jeep and driver round the clock. According to the Bangalore Mirror reporter Mr Praveen Kumar & Hemanth Kashyap, She is getting all this because of her boss, who uses three official vehicles a Toyota Innova for his family, and an Indigo and a Qualis for himself. Manjula the PA uses the Bolero to commute from home to work every day. And she is so privileged; a constable picks up her lunch box and laptop from the jeep and carries it to her office on the seventh floor. Further the other PAs in the department are peeved at the preferential treatment she gets. Her boss takes her wherever he gets a posting. Even inspector-rank officers have to address her as madam, a staffer said. He claimed that a departmental employee took VRS because of harassment from her. This is really very disgusting and shameful on the part of the PA Manjula and the Senior Police Officer who himself uses three government vehicles when the common man in India is paying taxes in spite of rising prices, recession & inflation. The PA Manjula and the senior IPS officer Sanjay Sahay should be immediately suspended & punished for the misuse of powers. We all know that the government vehicles runs on the cost of general public from their hard earnings collected through taxes and revenues but none come forward to stop the misuse of Govt vehicles from public servants. How can we expect our country to grow from a developing country to a developed nation when such things happen? Nice post Mazhar bhai......But worst than this there are few.. High level Govt. officials wives using Govt vehicle for conducting kitty party, Mandir visits, Family functions etc. They are better half of the hard skinned officials. We c'nt help it.... Few TV reporters are just following them back to get a report....Thats another story...What a shame....

AARYESDEE @ Dear brother Dev thanks for the esteemed presence & valuable inputs. Some SP-rank officers in the CID and Anti-Terrorist Cell do not have an official driver, but this lady has a driver in attendance all the time. Even in the corporate world, PAs are not pampered like this....

Mazhar i apologize most profusely for my earlier snide remarks, bro, i did not realize you had such an eagle's eye on the specifics of the injustices prevailing in our system--i on the other hand rely entirely on the reports of the media, and my intuition for these things, being a recluse and all--i don't get around much.
Regards, Mehboob
